How small can I go when moving from shared hosting to a VPS?
I’m planning to move a small business website from shared hosting because I need more control over PHP settings and scheduled tasks. Traffic is moderate, and the site doesn’t use many plugins.
I’m comparing VPS plans from a few providers, including hostpro.com. My budget is around $15–20 per month, and I’m considering starting with 2 vCPUs, 4 GB RAM and 50–80 GB SSD or NVMe storage.
Would this be enough for a typical WordPress website, assuming caching is configured properly? I’d rather start small and upgrade when resource usage actually justifies it than pay for an oversized server.
