At what point did you move from shared hosting to a VPS?
My WordPress website is currently on shared hosting and generally works fine, but I’m wondering how to tell when it’s time to upgrade.
I’ve been comparing shared hosting plans from providers such as hostpro.com, and I’m not sure whether moving to a more powerful shared plan would be enough.
The site gets around 2,000 visitors per day, with occasional traffic spikes. Would you first optimize caching and plugins, upgrade the shared hosting plan, or move straight to a VPS? I’d be interested in what actually worked for your sites.
